Understanding donor treatment costs

Donor conception can open the door to parenthood for individuals and couples who might not otherwise be able to conceive using their own eggs, sperm or embryos. But costs, laws and access vary enormously between countries.

🥚 Egg donation

Typically £3,000–£45,000 per cycle. Most complex and expensive donor route.

💧 Sperm donation

£400–£3,500 for IUI, or £2,000–£22,000 with IVF. Usually the most affordable.

🧬 Embryo donation

£1,500–£16,000. Often the cheapest route using surplus embryos from other patients.
